Dunno how "hardcore" I am but I got a druid to 1860 in season 2 and raided SSC/TK until vashj around that time too... after that I just burned out from too much playing.
Gave my account to a colleague of mine (OH NOOEESS) and currently just logging in once a week to take a look around and say hi to friends. :-)
I used to play 10+ hours a day in summer and burned through every pre-WotLK raid with one of the top 3 guilds on my server. After WotLK came out I re-discovered the joy of questing and leveling... so yeah, you can go from hardcore to casual. I have not, as of yet, seen the inside of Ulduar (oh noes! *le gasp*)
I was hardcore pre-BC / BC, MC, BWL, hyjal, BT. After all that and wrath was impending i lost ALOT of intrest in the game. i knew it was changing 10 & 25 mans, normal and hard modes. I quit for awhile to get away from the beast and to get things in order, came back and raid when i feel like it. ive all content and almost have of ulduar on my own time and lesuire. so it is very doable with current content, its all geared toward casual players.

Ahh.. I quit with wotlk release, I feel like playing again purely to PvP.. but I don't want to be addicted!! I've always played hardcore, used to lead raids in top end game guild and always had top tier gear sets, as well as hardcore pvp playing in 2100+ brackets.. I dunno if I can go from that to playing casual. Anybody tried going from hardcore to casual and pulling it off?
