There are two sets of doors my friend. The elevator left but the second set of doors are still there so people dont fall in the elevator shaft...
There sure weren't any doors to this elevator before :P
If there are two sets, why can't we see both in panel 6?:p the squar'y thing on the top doesn't look like the second one, since it's way smaller than the one at the bottom in the same panel.
panel 6 is a zoomed out view, ofc we can't see ze doors!

The second box would collide with the first wouldn't it? They have the same depth...

Why is the elevator still there on panel 10 of page 1? First I thought that they were just being sucked up the tube to the top and back down again, but then on panel 4 on page 2 you can clearly see the elevator at the middle of the elevator "shaft". What a paradox!
That aside, I find the concept of a modernized elevator in thunder bluff brilliant.
